Point in TIme, Rainbow Jazz and Bird for Life at Kempton
I suppose it would be true to say that things did not go particularly to plan yesterday; with Arlecchino’s Rock, who does not seem to be in quite the same form as this time last year, and with Misu Pete, who ran what might be described as a slightly tired race before running into his stamina index in the last furlong. He has done great for us over the Summer and Autumn, winning twice and running consistently well and we will look to give him a bit of a break. There was some further progression, tho, from Threediamondrings who continues to show ability and could well be of interest in similar races as we work into the Winter AW Season.
Three runners at Kempton this evening; we will be looking for Point in Time to step up on her quite promising debut at Kempton in the middle of last month in the first Division of the Fillies Novice over a mile. In the manner of most of our two year olds she made a quiet start to her first race and then got squeezed out and as a consequence had a lot to do in the straight before going steadily on in a way that impressed Steve Donohoe. She will have a future over ten and twelve furlongs next year and is a nice filly with an equally nice pedigree.
An hour and a half later Rainbow Jazz steps up to Kempton’s Class Three Nursery over seven furlongs. He is a couple of pounds wrong but he remains an effective handicap horse and, although the three above him in the weights will not make it easy, he should run well.
Finally Bird for Life is reunited with Nicola Currie for the twelve furlong Handicap; as I have touched on before she has shown ability on all her starts perhaps bar the second and we think we have arrived at her right trip. She was not so far away when finishing a going on fourth over the same trip at Kempton in the middle of October and if things were to drop a little better in the way the race were to be run she will not be far away.
