Mistry Powered Home at Windsor
Mistry rewarded her patient and generous Owners yesterday evening staying on stoutly under a positive and compelling ride from Darragh Keenan, who continues to showcase his emerging talent; the Mare will hopefully go up no more than three or four pounds and will continue to be competitive in similar races; Rocus is a modest person and probably does not have much of a future in training and will be found gainful employment in a different equine discipline.
All About the Pace runs in Chelmsford’s Plate this afternoon; she has not been a easy Mare to train and is not particularly consistent; she has the capability off this mark to doddle up this pm but it is difficult to have masses of confidence that she will and a further variable is that this is the first time she has run at Chelmsford; she almost certainly stays a fair bit further than ten furlongs and one of the keys this pm will be the strength of the pace (witness SDS’ judgement about kicking on at Lingfield at the end of last month) the race is run at; so we will see but she this afternoon’s race is probably as good an opportunity for her as there will be.
Tin Fandango makes his first appearance in a Handicap at Nottingham this evening; off a mark that, at least to several writers, seems artificially high. Up in trip today the gelding has shown ability on his first two starts before running something of a modest race at Windsor three weeks ago but might have to be eased three or four pounds before being really competitive; we will be able to judge that a little better after we see how he gets on this pm.
Liberty Diva, Bird for Life and Arlecchino’s Arc all run at Kempton tomorrow evening.
