Older Horses
Saxon House (GB)
4-y-o bay gelding by Flemensfirth (USA) out of Suka (IRE). This horse is a recent addition to the yard. He is a lovely athletic gelding who will make up into a smashing jumper with time. He should be ready to run in a National Hunt Flat race at the end of March or early April.
OWNER: Mrs. F. Walwyn
Kyleene (GB)
4-y-o bay filly by Kyllachy out of Mrs Nash. This filly has recently joined us having previously been trained by Jeremy Noseda in Newmarket. She has only had four races in her life, twice unplaced as a two year old and twice placed as a three year old, being second at Ffos Las and then winning at Wolverhampton in the Autumn. She looks an excellent addition to the string.
OWNER: The Hornets Partnership
Dynamo Dave (USA)
5-y-o bay gelding by Distorted Humor (USA) out of Nothing Special (CAN). He is a strong, good looking gelding who has won over six and seven furlongs and really likes quick ground. He will be campaigned on the all-weather over the winter.
OWNER: R.H. Brookes.
Calculating (IRE)
6-y-o bay gelding by Machiavellian (USA) out of Zaheemah (USA). He had a very successful all-weather campaign in the winter of 07/08 culminating in a fine victory in The Queen's Prize at Kempton. He continued to run well in 2009 with placings on numerous occasions and he won four times including a first success on grass at Epsom. He will continue running in staying handicaps before being tried over hurdles.
OWNER: Brian Rogan
Golden Alchemist (GB)
7-y-o chestnut gelding by Woodborough (USA) out of Pure Gold. He spent a good few months out in a paddock where he really thrived. He is a horse that needs a lot of exercise and takes time to achieve full fitness. His first run back after such a long break at Ludlow was very pleasing and I am hopeful for the future.
OWNER: Midweek Racing.
Bold Rose (GB)
4-y-o chestnut filly by Bold Edge out of Bowden Rose. She is a half sister to the Listed winner and high class handicapper, Wise Dennis. This is a filly who could well improve with age backed up by the fact she won three times last season. Seems to do best on an easy surface. She should continue to do well in handicaps over sprint distances.
OWNER: Usher's Court. SHARES AVAILABLE - SEE FOR SALE PAGE.
Diamond Dee (GB)
4-y-o chestnut filly by Deploy out of Diamond Swan. She is a lovely late maturing filly who has not been rushed. She ran a few times on the flat, showing a fair degree of promise, but has been switched to hurdling and put up a good effort finishing third in her first start at Bangor followed by a promising second in a Class 4 novices' hurdle at Hereford. She has had a break and is now ready to resume her hurdling career over the winter.
OWNER: M.D.I. Usher
Tiffany Lady (GB)
4-y-o chestnut filly by Generous (IRE) out of Art Deco Lady. This lovely looking filly by the successful Derby winning sire, Generous, is a half-sister to Lady Jinks, twice a winner for this stable. She is difficult to train and has not shown much on the racetrack on the flat so we have been schooling her over hurdles and she has taken to this well. She should be making her hurdling debut soon.
OWNER: Mrs. Jill Pellett.
Three Year Olds
Katmai River (IRE)
Bay gelding by Choisir (AUS) out of Katavi (USA). This former Jeremy Noseda trained gelding has shown promise. He is currently being rested due to a minor injury but looks a good prospect for the 2010 Flat season.
OWNER: M.D.I. Usher
Spice Fair (GB)
Chestnut gelding by Trade Fair out of Focosa (ITY). He is a lovely looking gelding who has been given plenty of time. He ran exceptionally well to finish second on his racecourse debut and looks like a nice horse in the making.
OWNER: Saxon House Racing.
