by Old Vic ex East Rose ( Keen )
One of the last five foals born to the Champion NH Sire Old Vic, Bay Fortuna has had an interrupted career and has recently returned to Rowdown after almost a year off spent in the paddocks of Hollybush Farm, where he originally grew up. He jumps naturally and well as can be seen in the photo below
and in the video here
He won a competitive two and a half mile Handicap Hurdle at Bangor in April 2015 under a fine ride from David Crosse that you can see here and he had previously been placed in a NH Flat race at Worcester in the Summer of 2013.
His training regime involves the use of a water treadmill and this photo and the video here
shows his first session on the treadmill with water flowing through it; as he gains experience he will work on the treadmill for around 25 minutes at a time with the cold, salt, water up to his hocks.
Mark put him back on the track for the first time since the Summer of 2015 in a two mile Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon at the end of April 2017, going over what is really an inadequate trip in order to get some decent ground; if you go here you can see a video of his performance which was dead pleasing in all the circumstances and after so long off; he was entered in several suitable Handicaps from the end of May onwards but these were aborted by some poor weather and too soft ground. Mark was able to find the right ground at Uttoxeter in the middle of June and he ran out a decisive eight length winner of a two and a half mile Handicap Hurdle and you can see a video of his performance is here
Mark will look to exploit what is almost certainly a favourable mark in similar Handicap Hurdles and if all continues to go well he will be schooled over fences.
One ten percent share in him is available; please contact his Breeder and Syndicate Manager, John Stansfield, on 01208 850727 or via email at email@example.com
