by Red Jazz (USA) ex Let's Pretend (GB) ( Rainbow Quest (IRE) )
By the Challenge Stakes winner and Group One placed first season Sire, Red Jazz, out of an own Sister to the high class stayer and now successful stallion, Rainbow High, this quality free moving colt was purchased by Mark at Tattersalls in October 2016.
Bred and reared in County Cork his dam has foaled two individual winners of five races from just three foals.
if you follow this link you will be able to see him breezing behind the five year old Leith Bridge in the first week of January; Mark put him onto the track in a good quality Goodwood Novice Auction Stake in the middle of June and he ran a race full of promise to be third, just lacking the experience of the front two; if you go here you can see a replay of the race.
He showed the benefit of his initial run when running for the second time, again over six furlongs, at Newbury in the middle of July running on progressivly throughout the last furlong to be just touched off for third; if you go here you can see a video of the improvement. A disappointing run on very testing ground at Lingfield followed and his Owners took the wise decision to geld him.
It seems that it took him a while to get over the procedure but he ran two reasonable races in Nurseries at Epsom and at Salisbury (where in particular the way the race was run did not suit) followed by a more modest effort on the Lingfield polytrack. But he got himself back on track when running on strongly to be third in a good class Goodwood Nursery in the middle of October and you can see a video of this improved performance here
He has always showed ability at home and he remains an effective Handicap horse in the making.
