Welcome to Mark Usher Racing!

I have been training racehorses since 1983 and I am now based in Rowdown Stables, Upper Lambourn, a modern, purpose built, Yard with 30 Boxes with easy access to the superb Lambourn Gallops. We moved into Rowdown on the 1st January 2016 and you can see something of the excellent facilites we have here. My team and I work hard to do the best for our horses and to achieve success and enjoyment for our owners; I pride myself on high standards and attention to detail.

Bird About Town

2022   Chesnut   Filly

by Cityscape (GB)  ex  Bird to Love (GB)  ( Delegator (GB) )

        Usher's Court
        Owner:  Usher's Court

By the 2012 Meydan Dubai Duty Free winner Cityscape (who is from the immediate family of the Prix Salamandre & Dewhurst winner, Xaar) out of a Delegator Mare that Mark trained to win four races, Bird to Love; who is a beautifully made and is a half-sister to the multiple winners Birdlover, Birdolini (who incidently is the dam of our prolific winner Bird for Life) and Bird in Love. Birdlover was a really decent US Dirt Stakes winner at around eight furlongs.

This really strong, athletic and free moving filly was born on 12th March 2022; the photo at the top of this page was taken in April 2023. If you follow this link you can see her Dam Bird to Love winning at Lingfield under Bradley Harris in October 2020; and here she is winning at Chelmsford earlier in 2020. This video shows the filly at 14 days old and this one five months later. Here she is having a chat in August 2022; She has grown progressively and correctly and here and here are two videos of her at the end of July 2023 showing both her strength and athleticism.

Known to Bonnie to her friends she was brought up by James and Jackie Bennett, who have a long association with our Yard, near Wantage and she came into Rowdown to be trained in October 2023.

Mark would be pleased to show you Bonnie at virtually any time convenient to you; the outline plan is to put the filly on the track in early July although there is a possibility that her debut could be slightly earlier; the filly would be very pleased to see you; here she is at the end of February 2024 showing all the strength and athleticism of her multiple winning mother!!

Shares available

The partnership is of 12 equal shares in this strong athletic two year old filly who should start her career on the racecourse in the Summer of 2024; there is every chance the filly will make up into a useful racehorse.

Here she is showing her freedom of movement, her lovely action and her strength; all desirable qualities in a developing equine athlete!
