Welcome to Mark Usher Racing!

I have been training racehorses since 1983 and I am now based in Rowdown Stables, Upper Lambourn, a modern, purpose built, Yard with 30 Boxes with easy access to the superb Lambourn Gallops. We moved into Rowdown on the 1st January 2016 and you can see something of the excellent facilites we have here. My team and I work hard to do the best for our horses and to achieve success and enjoyment for our owners; I pride myself on high standards and attention to detail.

Visitors to the yard are always welcome! You can keep uptodate with the latest news from Rowdown by clicking this link and you can see our immediately upcoming Entries and running plans by clicking here and then selecting 'Entries'.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Blue Galaxy

2018   Grey   Gelding

by Telescope (Ire)  ex  Indigo (GB)  ( Medicean )

By the King Edward VII Stakes winner and very high class middle distance horse that Sir Michael Stoute trained, Telescope, this very nice grey yearling colt is the first foal from the winning mare Indigo; he is very closely related to the multiple winning Big Bad Bob gelding that we have at Rowdown, Bayston Hill, and we would like to think that he was extremely well bought at Tattersalls Ascot Sale in August for £1500, the low price perhaps reflecting that the Sale yesterday was not one that specifically offered yearlings.

If you follow this link you can see him working in behind Misu Pete and the Rowdown Nursery Gleneagles gelding on the 1st of April. And here he is two and a half weeks later being led by Hnourable Knight on the 18th of April 2020.

We got him onto the track in December 2020 in an eight furlong Lingfield Maiden and two further runs in Maiden company followed. at Southwell and back at Lingfield, in January 2021; he has had five runs in Handicaps and he has yet to translate his home work onto the track; he is having a break over the late Summer of 2021 and we are looking to him to improve with maturity; he is a horse who works significantly better at home than he has hitherto achieved on the track.
