Welcome to Mark Usher Racing!

I have been training racehorses since 1983 and I am now based in Rowdown Stables, Upper Lambourn, a modern, purpose built, Yard with 30 Boxes with easy access to the superb Lambourn Gallops. We moved into Rowdown on the 1st January 2016 and you can see something of the excellent facilites we have here. My team and I work hard to do the best for our horses and to achieve success and enjoyment for our owners; I pride myself on high standards and attention to detail.

Visitors to the yard are always welcome! You can keep uptodate with the latest news from Rowdown by clicking this link and you can see our immediately upcoming Entries and running plans by clicking here and then selecting 'Entries'.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Duly Amazed

2019   Bay   Gelding

by Due Diligence (USA)  ex  Sweet Amazement (GB)  ( Kheleyf (USA) )

Owner:  Silver Lining Racing

By the really progessive young stallion, Due Diligence, out of a Mare from the family of the 1000 Guineas and Oaks winner, Love and the high class Mare that Mark trained, Royal Alchemist, he is a nice specimen with an expressive action that really covers ground.

He arrived at Mike's to be broken, schooled and ridden away slightly later than some of the young horses in the Yard, in the first week of January; here he is long reining on the 18th January 2021

And here he is being Backed on the morning of 27th January 2021. If you follow this link you can see one of his early canters on the morning of 25th March.

If you follow this link you can see an amalgam of some of his recent work (set to music!) under Isobel; he is a free moving horse with an expressive action.

Mark got him onto the track in the middle of December 2020 and he ran a respectable race over six furlongs at Kempton; he then picked up a problem with one of his knees and was off the course until the middle of June; we got him handicapped in two runs at Lingfield in June and July and he ran to 60 and 65 in both of those; his first run in a Handicap was over six back at Lingfield in the first week of August and he finished seventh, beaten just over five lengths.
