Welcome to Mark Usher Racing!

I have been training racehorses since 1983 and I am now based in Rowdown Stables, Upper Lambourn, a modern, purpose built, Yard with 30 Boxes with easy access to the superb Lambourn Gallops. We moved into Rowdown on the 1st January 2016 and you can see something of the excellent facilites we have here. My team and I work hard to do the best for our horses and to achieve success and enjoyment for our owners; I pride myself on high standards and attention to detail.

Visitors to the yard are always welcome! You can keep uptodate with the latest news from Rowdown by clicking this link and you can see our immediately upcoming Entries and running plans by clicking here and then selecting 'Entries'.

Liberty Bay - R'down Nursery

2018   Bay   Filly

by Ifraaj (GB)  ex  Light Fantastic (GB)  ( Kyllachy (GB) )

Owner:  2020 Rowdown Nursery

Iffraaj was a excellent racehorse who has turned into a phenomenal stallion siring winners of over 1445 races and over £25 million of prize money. Our Yearling's dam, Fantastic Light, won as a 2 year old and she traces back to the champion Two Year Old filly in Europe, Blue Duster. She is a very strong athletic looking filly and because of her early foaling date she will be one to go to war with in the very early part of the Flat Season. Again at 6,500 gns she looks real value.

And if you follow this link you can see her being ridden for the first time, on 14th November 2019, by Isobel Francis. This link shows her being ridden by Ciaran on the 18th of November. And if you go here you can see her working really decently on the 1st of April under Isobel Francis with Arlecchino's Leap ridden by Lee Newnes; and moving on a fortnight here she is going better still with Misu Pete at around 44lbs wfa on a beautiful 15th April morning; this video is at the top right of this page.

She had one or two issues with the scary stalls, which resulted in her being withdrawn from a race at Sandown in July, but she made a satisfactory start to her career on the track in a six furlong Maiden Auction at Wolverhampton at the beginning of September; she then found the improvement that we hoped she would in six furlong Novice at Kempton at the end of September.

A second at Wolvlerhampton over five, a fourth and a third in two Kempton Nursery's over six followed before she deservidly got off the mark over six in another Kempton Nursery at the end of November.
