Two Terrific Servants
Spice Fair ran well at Lingfield on Saturday, showing that he retains his ability in a competitive Class Three Handicap; confidently and capably ridden by Zac Baker, whose seven pounds is excellent value, he was just slightly outpaced in between the last two hurdles; hopefully he will drop two or three pounds tomorrow and the Yard are looking forward to him being really competitive in similar events over the Winter and will certainly hope to be able to continue put up Zac.
Rowdown should be back in action on Wednesday with Pension Madness looking to achieve a mark in Newbury’s Juvenile Hurdle and Bryan Fry’s new recruit looking to progressive his promising start to his career in the Maiden Auction Stakes at Kempton’s Twilight Meeting.
Later today James and Jackie’s spiffing person, Idol Deputy, ridden by Racheal, looks to win over Wolverhampton’s extended mile for the 12th time in the last race of the afternoon at Dunstall Park; he, at the age of 10 going on 11, and Spice Fair, at 9 going on 10, are superbly consistent and genuine people who have made a contribution to racing and both horses are terribly popular. Idol Deputy is decently handicapped and ran an excellent race at his beloved Wolverhampton two and a half weeks ago and should be highly competitive this afternoon; we wish Racheal and him well.
