A Quiet Spell with Runners
Our fairly quiet spell with runners continues as Pension Madness has just had a small setback, not at all serious but just enough to stop him running at Newbury tomorrow; we will take a decision tomorrow about whether or not our grand person, Spice Fair, goes to Cheltenham on Sunday; most of the decision will hinge on the ground, the unseasonably dry weather having resulted in good ground at Prestbury this morning with no rain forecast until possibly Sunday morning; you can always see our entries here on the Yard’s page on the Racing Post website.
One little bit of news that might be worth articulating is that back in the Autumn of 2013 the Coolmore team paid £2.5M for an American bred yearling by War Front (at the time the stallion who was the flavour of the month before Showcasing) from a high class North American Stakes family; he ran three times for Coolmore before being sold to Derek Shaw at Tattersalls in October 2015 for £3k; he ran for the first time since at Southwell yesterday and finished fourth of nine, beaten eight lengths; and earned some £288; these sequence of events just help to add some perspective to the value on offer on our Sale Page!!
