We are still quiet on the runners front, of design really in terms of the string’s preparation, but it might be a blessing in disguise as one way and another the people that have run have not quite been fully firing on the racecourse (with the honourable exception of Spice Fair and his mature immune system). Very much a transient issue, one thing that does not particularly help is the mild, wet weather over the last six or seven weeks of the Winter; temperatures of minus six make for some difficulties in handling TBs but it is a dead healthy environment in terms of bacteria propagation. Patience and letting the horses come to themselves naturally is always the key and our string has begun to show signs of turning the corner.
There is some simply staggering prize money on offer at Meydan tomorrow on Dubai World Cup evening, enough to make the eyes water!!
