The Form of the Yard
We have been very pleased with the form of the string since the end of May with Marmajuke Bay, Bay Fortuna, Misu Pete, Makhfar and Dreamboat Annie all winning; and for the most part quite decisively.
Things continued to go pretty respectably at Dunstall Park yesterday afternoon; Makhfar ran another solid race off his higher mark to be second, not being quite able to get to the winner who just seemed to slip the field under an enterprising ride; Black Truffle, a steadily going on second, showed that he does retain an awful lot of the ability that has seen him win seven races for Saxon House; he is well handicapped and could well improve a little further after such a long lay off. Bird for Life achieved his handicap mark and showed some further quiet improvement; we will look to take him up a little further in terms of trip now that he is eligible for handicaps.
No runners today but Shamonix will make her handicap debut at Kempton tomorrow evening and we have found what we hope is a nice good ground handicap for Miracle of Medinah at Newmarket on Thursday.
