Spice Fair at Ffos Las
The small field at Ffos Las, reduced to only four, produced a slow pace in the early stages of the race yesterday such that Liam felt he had to go on down the back with Spice Fair, neither of which helped him much; he needs to be quietly settled out the back off a really true gallop and the outcome of yesterday was that he was just outspeeded over the last furlong and a half. But he still ran well and we shall look at the race in the light of him going hurdling as we reach the Autumn and that he will almost certainly be eased another couple of pounds that will help on the flat before then, ideally in a larger field handicap.
If you go here you can see a video taken yesterday of Sweetest Revenge’s four month old bay colt foal by Kyllachy. Those with memories will recall that at Saxon House Mark trained the Dam, who also features in the video, to win seven races (and to be placed 15 times) and that she is closely related to the high class Mare that we bought from Hollybush Farm, Royal Alchemist. Markus, as he is known to his friends, also has the Challenge Stakes winner, Arabian Gleam, and the current AW Sprint Champion, the 109 rated Kimberella, both of whom are also by Kyllachy very close up in her pedigree as is the 2013 Lowther winner Lucky Kristale.
