The Week Ahead & our Work Morning on Saturday
We were pleased to see so many people at Rowdown on Saturday morning in the nice Spring weather; three of the Rowdown Nursery two year olds worked nicely with Bullseye Bullet (who we are delighted to say is not too far off a return to the track); and Waqaas, more of him in a mo, led the Kyllachy Sweetest Revenge two year old at the end of his third week cantering, witness the video here. There are two shares left in the Rowdown Nursery and both Mike and myself would be pleased to show anyone who might be interested all four of them on the move; at least two of them should be on the track in the immediate Spring.
Bayston Hill goes to Wolverhampton tomorrow evening for their extended nine furlong Handicap under Ellie; Bird for Life runs over 16 furlongs at Lingfield on Wednesday; and we are looking forward to running a nice horse for the first time from Rowdown; Waqaas, who was originally purchased as a yearling by Sheikh Hamdam and has recently been bought back by his Breeders, at Kempton on Wednesday evening; he, along with the other older horses we have bought in over the Winter, Island Jungle and Four Mile Bridge, are really nice individuals who should do well for us in good quality handicaps over the late Spring and Summer.
One final thing is that Verity Bourne, who has been such a generous supporter of both Saxon House and of Rowdown (she bred both Bullseye Bullet and Dreamboat Annie to name two horses we have trained), has not been so well of late; everyone connected with Rowdown wishes her a speedy recovery.
