MUR Club Update
Bird For Life was brilliant last night at Wolverhampton. She travelled so strongly, she never really looked like getting beat; and it’s come at a time when the yard really needed a win, as the Club horses have so often done. She’s definitely improved this year and she and Ellie have struck up a good partnership. The winning margin was 6 lengths so I imagine the handicapper she going to put her up a fair bit. This might make things a little harder from now on but we will appreciate the win.
As you know Misu Pete runs in the 5:15 at Newbury tomorrow. It’s an Apprentice race with a low weight so Isobel Francis will ride him again. There is already one non-runner which brings the field down to 6. They had some rain this morning but not enough to make a significate difference. There is rain forecast in the morning but we will have to see; the more rain we get the better his chances. Having said that, there are some good horses in the race and it’s probably not his ideal trip.
Looking forward Bird To Love might make her handicap debut at Wolverhampton next Tuesday 23rd July. She’s not guaranteed to get a run but I think our chances are good. We’re going to Wolverhampton to keep things simple and to learn a bit. Hopefully later in the summer we can race her more locally on the turf.
We also have Black Truffle in over a mile at Lingfield on Wednesday 24th. We will just have to wait and see if he gets a run.
