Things did not go great for Padura Brave yesterday evening; unlucky is a relative word in racing that this Blog tries to avoid but unquestionable Padura Brave suffered some 'bad luck' yesterday evening, the only question being the actual degree that it affected her finishing position. The loose horse both significantly hampered and set her alight and the combination of both resulted in her being out the back from the good draw set alight and pulling too hard for her own good; still virtually last after turning in she made progress all they way up the straight to be the closest at the finish, beaten just over four lengths; witness the video here. She is clearly well capable of winning in this company off this mark and we will look to achieve that before the end of the Autumn; without the loose horse you could reasonably think she would have finished appreciably closer last night.
For different reasons both Freedom and Wheat and Arlecchino's Leap are non runners tomorrow.
We have a potentially busy day on Monday with Born to Please, Bird to Love, Dreamboat Annie & Threediamondrings (him who finds the stalls scary) all engaged at Bath; Chromium and Gifted Dreamer both have entires at Wolverhampton's Twilight Meeting.
Finally the Blog is going on an annual holiday to an island in the sun for nine days; and that might account for the reduced level of content but normal service should be resumed a week Sunday.
