Not too much doubt that Four Mile Bridge was beaten by the draw last night, caught wide throughout from stall 11, round the first bend to the last to be beaten a head and a neck; 'unlucky' is that relative term it doesn't pay to overuse but you would surely thought he would have won drawn a bit closer to the rail. At least the ew investments shone through last night and his time in the Winner's Enclosure is, you might reasonably think, perhaps just around the corner.
Profound will improve a considerable amount for yesterday evening and was ridden sympathetically in the circumstances of his first run for almost exactly a year; and we will look to Evaporust to be more effective in the right grade off a mark as we get into the Winter proper.
Our second and third yearlings arrived from Tattersalls last night; both by high class Coolmore Galileo stallions, Gleneagles and The Gurkha. You can see outline details of them here but the current intention might be that the Gleneagles out of Destalink colt, who is likely to be the more precocious of the two, will form the first strand of the 2020 Rowdown Nursery. The spiffing The Gurkha colt out of the classy Cliveden Stud Mare, Fraulein, (who won the Grade One E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine) has been bought for a valued long standing Owner in the Yard. Both are really nice colts and are with Mike to further their education.
