We are looking forward to going to Newbury this pm with On The Right Track, who makes her second start for her kind Owner, and is the latest member of a family who have done so well for Rowdown, the multiple winner Bayston Hill and the dual winner Indigo are his half brother and sister. We have had a serious word with him since his less than exemplary behaviour at Kempton the week before last and two of the core aims of this afternoon is that he gets safely to the start and into the race and builds on the ability he showed over seven furlongs in the third week of September; he will need one more run after today to be qualified for handicaps.
Tin Fandango, who will be well ridden by Isobel, runs in the (one of the rare 16 furlong races for Apprentices) staying Apprentice Handicap; he actually has limited experience on turf (and even less on very easy ground) his only three turf runs being in the Summer of 2018, two of which were in Maiden company; so that is one constraint and another is that he has not yet quite recaptured his form of the late Winter and the early Spring that saw him win so decisivelyat Lingfield at the beginning of April, witness the video here. But he goes to Newbury to run well and to improve on what he has achieved in his two runs back from his summer break.
Tomorrow sees Evaporust run for the third time in Maiden Comnpany at Chelmsford and Bird for Life and Bird to Love run in alternate divisions of Newbury's Lady Riders Amateur Handicap.
