It’s been a good week for Bird To Love! Two wins in three days, though the charity race won’t count towards her from. We weren’t planning on running her but Born To Please was a little bit sore on Thursday morning and Bird was bouncing after her race. Isobel Budge gave her a lovely ride. She needs to be ridden aggressively to get a good position and when she got to the front she happily galloped all the way to the line. It was a great day for everyone, Misu Pete and Arlecchino’s Leap behaved impeccably and race decent races too. All in all it was a success. I wish I was there but unfortunately I was at Ascot sales and my only disappointment was the lack of live coverage. You would have thought they could show a charity race on the racing channel. For anyone who didn’t get to see it click on the link below.
Back to Bird to Love briefly; she looked so at home on the soft ground that we will probably just give her a couple of runs on the all-weather and focus on the grass early next year. She might even like a hurdle or two in front of her one day.
There’s no flat racing next week and it will be a bit quite up until Christmas. There will be a couple of races around Kempton and Lingfield so there will be some days out. Feel free to visit the horses at the yard too, though maybe when the rail relents!
