Runners at Lingfield & Wolverhampton
We swing back into action this afternoon at Lingfield where Apex King has his second run for Rowdown in the good class mile Handicap; he joined us from David Loughnane early in the Autumn; he runs this pm off 78 in the saddle if you were minded to allow all of Isobel's claim and this gives him something of a competitive chance at the weights, having won over Lingfield's course and distance off 77, been competitive off 86 a month later and having won at Goodwood in May off the same mark. He will come on for running at Kempton a month ago and he goes to Lingfield run well.
At Wolverhampton in the evening Profound makes his third start for Rowdown; he was a potentially a smart horse for Roger Varian at the end of 2017 before suffering a setback that has resulted in this being only his fourth run over two years; he goes up in trip to twelve furlongs, has dropped another three pounds and is eased in class for what will only be his second start in handicap company; and showed improvement on his second start for us and we are looking for that to continue this evening under David Probert; we will know quite a bit more about him, particularly as regards his right trip, after this evening.
As I write this we are looking at the declarations for our six entries at Wolverhampton on Monday afternoon.
