First of all Bird For Life has got us off and mark again and she did it in some style. She could have gone round again and Ryan didn’t have to get serious with her at all. He did give a brilliant ride; you might think anyone could have won on her but I assure you, you would be wrong. He knows the filly inside out; he used to have to force the issue with her and work very hard to keep her going but now it’s effortless and she travels for him willingly, and she’s a much better filly for it. If she stays in good order I don’t see why she can’t raise the bar again so we could still have more fun with her this summer.
Born To Please didn’t like things so much at Leicester. They had a fairly dry couple of days leading into the race and the ground wasn’t nearly soft enough. It also didn’t help that the race was run very slowly and it turned into a sprint late on. She pulls quite hard in her races so she really wants it the other way around. We can’t win them all! She will live to fight the other day.
We will have a quieter week this week. I think our next runner could be Bird To Love next week; we have a couple of options for her. Misu Pete could run towards the end of month too. We don’t have next month’s races yet so it’s hard to plan much but I’m really looking forward to getting Gifted Dreamer back to the track because he’s extremely well at home.
