We decided against running Misu Pete at Lingfield tomorrow. Firstly 7 furlongs down the hill might prove a bit sharp and secondly at the time of declaration we couldn’t guarantee the rain will come in time. There will be other opportunities for him I’m sure and hopefully in another month you will all have the option to go and see him run.
We put Born To Please and Bird For Life in at Chepstow on Tuesday 30th June. There are a lot more entries than I thought there would be so they might not get in. It seems a bit of an odd move, especially with Bird; but there is plenty of rain in the forecast and it doesn’t take a lot to turn the ground soft. It would suit Born well as long as she gets a mile and a half; she has only won over 10 furlongs on the flat. Bird hasn’t got any real form on the grass but she has shown glimpses of promise and her grass handicap mark he a lot lower than her all-weather mark. She carries a massive 15lb less on the grass so it’s worth a try. We can always go back to the all-weather.
