We are in for a busy few days for the Club horses. Tomorrow we start with Gifted Dreamer in the 4:15 at Lingfield. It’s over 6 furlongs which is a touch sharp for him but we have to go where we can. To make matters worse he is drawn 10 of 11; it’s a very tough draw, particularly over the shorter trips. He breaks well but I can’t see him having the pace to get forward so I think Isobel will have to tuck him in, even if that means being at the back. If he can follow the rail round maybe he can pick up some places in the home straight. I just hope he gives us a reason to carry on with him, I think there might be some more suitable races coming in the middle of August.
Next we have Bird To Love in the 8:25 at Lingfield. She doesn’t strike me as a horse that will handle Lingfield but she is drawn well in 3. If she can get forward and lean on the rail she might do well. We have Ryan Tate on her for the first time I believe.
On Saturday Bird For Life and Ryan Tate are back in at Chepstow. It is a very similar race to the one she won; she only went up 3lb for that win which I thought was very fair. She is in good order and her foot is fine after losing the shoe, it’s just a question if it’s going to come too soon. She’s been lightly raced overall this year so I don’t see why she can’t go well again.
Bird To Love and Born To Please are both in at Windsor on Monday 3rd August. This is mainly because we are a bit gutted we missed the opportunity for them both last week there. The ground is drying up quick but there is rain in the forecast for Monday so you never know. If on Saturday morning we think the rain will come we will declare both of them and Bird To Love will just have to run again.
Lastly (for now) we have Misu Pete in a mile apprentice race at Lingfield on Tuesday 4th August. This race is right up his street, though it will al depend on the draw; if he’s drawn 1 to 5 he must have a very good chance.
