The Bay Warrior at Kempton
Waqaas struggled a bit with the draw on Monday evening at Wolverhampton but still ran respectably to be beaten just over six lengths; he would have been closer without the wide trip; one thing we will look to do is to take him to Southwell, whose fibresand flat meeting Winter Season begins next week, with a vu to replicating what he achieved on the Laytown Strand; he remains capable of being effective off his current mark.
We take The Bay Warrior to Kempton this evening for his first run on the aw; he is a fine, big rangy specimem who has been immature and backward at two; he will achieve a mark tomorrow evening, which forms part of the rationale for running him, and watch out for an element of very quiet progression over what he achieved at Ascot in July and at Salisbury at the beginning of this month; he is a horse we like a fair bit and are confident that he will make up into a better three year old and then a better still and nice four year old; as I have touched on before he is horse who has a future and watch out for him in a handicap as next Spring begins to turn into next Summer (by which time I am sure that his Owners will be able to welcome racegoers into the Racecourse Bar to celebrate; and that Brentford fans will finally be able to get into their brand new stadium).
Jeffreys Bay goes to Lingfield tomorrow to build on his Warwick debut in the Sussex tracks Bumper.
