Runners at Lingfield & Wolverhampton
Self evidently going to Southwell with Tin Fandango was not a great success and we are unlikely to take him back there; he is fine this morning and we shall see what we can find for him on the polytrack and the tapeta.
Perthshire is a non runner at Lingfield this pm but it is an interesting day nonetheless; Blue Galaxy makes his debut in the mile Novice Auction Stake under Isobel; she is from the family of Jessica Ennis and our spiffing servant, Bayston Hill that has served us so well; we will know a fair bit more about Blue Galaxy after today.
Bird to Love runs in Lingfield's twelve furlong handicap under David; she is not particularly consistent in terms of her form on the track, something that has its origins in the way her seasons operate, and it would pay not to pay too much attention to her modest performances the last twice; off 56 she has the ability to be involved this afternoon although it is not easy to predict how she will run.
Which brings us to Spirit of Rowdown and his bid for a Nursery hatrick in the last at Wolverhampton; he is up just four pounds for powering home over the c&d three weeks ago and ten pounds since he won his first Nursery at Chelmsford; he is not an entirely straightforward guy, witness the video and how he travelled down the back at Wolverhampton, but as long as his temperament stands up and he copes with the start, he has an excellent form chance coupled with the prospect of further improvement such to defy the four pounds; none of this has escaped the world at large and he has been consistently well backed since the books first offered a price; as ever in Nurseries it is hard to know the sp about the unexposed guys that could form the core opposition, most notably the £120k Kingman filly of James Fanshawe's and Clive Cox's Twilight Son filly who is closely related to Willie Muir's high class sprinter Stepper Point; the Cox filly has shown progression each time she has run in Maiden company and could be a useful person in the making.
