MUR Club Update
Bird To Love runs in the 5:45 at Lingfield on Wednesday. It’s a higher grade than she has run in before but there are only 9 runners and she isn’t carrying much weight. I don’t necessarily think she is like Bird For Life and Born To Please in the way that a light weight helps her much, but I do think she has more ability than she has shown recently and maybe a small field will make things less complicated for her. It will be interesting and we will learn something anyway.
Born To Please took her last race quite hard so we have been very easy on her. Her options hurdling are limited now, we may enter her at Lingfield (hurdles) next Monday 22nd February but that isn’t a “mare’s only” so it might be more competitive than she’s used to. On the other hand she gets weight off for being a mare against geldings. There is also a “mare’s only” 2m 4f race at Plumpton on the 1st March that is worth thinking about. It’s not the nicest track, particularly for hold up horses but the step up in trip might be worth a try.
