Bird To Love was acting in season at the racetrack apparently but I think she has run a fair race considering the class, and Kempton is riding pretty deep at the moment and I don’t think she got home in it. She needs to drop a few pounds in the handicap which she will for this race so it was a worthwhile trip. Hopefully next time we will get back in her grade and we will consider dropping her back to 10 furlongs if the right race comes along. Or there are a few 12 furlong races at Lingfield which we know is to her liking.
We didn’t enter Born for Lingfield in the end. There were lots of entries and it’s bound to be competitive, if it’s even on. We will save her for Plumpton on the 1st March. Keeping her against mares has to be the right thing to do and the increase in trip should be interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing her run in the race.
Bird For Life won’t run for a couple of weeks now. She will either go to Lingfield on the 27th February or the 6th March for an Apprentice race. Hopefully the freshen up will do her good and she is due a win one of these days. Interestingly Ryan Tate is back riding so we have a decision to make and it will probably influence what race we go for.
