The Bay Warrior & Dreamboat Annie
Fairly self evidently Arlecchino's Arc did not run as well as we hoped he would; he was under pressure on the turn in as the race developed quite messily, running out of room and being hampered resulting in the distance he was about to be beaten being magnified; we will have to think about whether or not to come back down in trip.
The Bay Warrior has improved for being gelded and should have a decent chance in Lingfield's three year old twelve furlong Handicap; with only six runners it should be a fair bit easier for Charlie to ride the race he wants compared to how thing panned out with a full sized field at Wolverhampton three weeks ago; he is not the easiest of rides and one of the keys will be to get him settled into the pace and progressively wind things up without getting him out of rythmn; he has the ability and the form to go very close this afternoon and we remain of the vu that he will continue to improve with racing and maturity.
Three hours later Dreamboat Annie and Isobel run in the seven furlong Classified Stake; seven furlongs round Lingfield is just about our Mare's ideal scenario and with Isobel's claim, well drawn and down in class (particularly so if you compare today's race with her two runs over six and eight fulongs in November and December) we have an excellent chance at the weights; the combo should run well and anythng like a reproduction of what they also achieved a the end of August off a pound more than today will see them involved after the turn in.
Timeforaspin goes to Uttoxeter tomorrow; more of him tomorrow.
