Arlecchino's Arc should have an excellent chance in Chelmsford's ten furlong Classified Stake this evening; here he is just being held, probably by the winner's claim, over twelve furlongs at Kempton last week. The visor is back on to just help him as he (we muchly hope!) comes to be involved, witness a furlong out at Kempton; although coming back in trip he won over the Chelmsford ten furlongs twice in April 2019; it is not the best race ever run in Essex this evenng and he should have an excellent chance; just by the by Jason Watson rode his first ever winner claiming seven pounds in these colours on Arlecchino's Leap for our kind Owners over Chelmsford's eight furlongs in March 2018.
An hour earlier Bird to Love and Charlie run in the ten furlong Handicap; inevitably it is nothing like as easy to weigh up her chance; it is pretty good in terms of the weights but what is difficult is know how she will run; she has been covered by Cityscape although we don't know whether or not she is in foal (the changes in a Mare's hormone balance is the physical reason why in foal Mare's can show improvement on the track after being covered); so taken together it is really difficult to know the score; Bird to Love being Bird to Love she will run to her best form (and she will go very close tonight if she does that) when we least expect it.
Our three year old Havana Gold filly, Intoxication, makes her debut over seven furlongs at Kempton's Twilight Meeting tomorrow evening; and we are just looking at our declarations for Saturday with Bird for Life, Dylan's Sea Song and The Bay Warrior (keep an eye on him, he might not be the easiest horse to train but he is well handicapped in relation to his intrinsic ability) all engaged
