An interesting evening at Kempton; Adaayinourlife goes up in trip to eight furlongs in the Nursery, the first race on the card; the right approach is to draw a line through what was a probably a slightly disappointing run at Wolverhampton where we probably ran him too soon after his excellent performance at Kempton in the second week of August; if you allow some of Ellie's claim a reproduction of the Kempton performance sees him go back to Sunbury this evening with a really excellent chance at the weights against the public form of the opposition; the one constraint is that, as ever with Nurseries, it is pretty much impossible to know the real sp about the unexposed guys and there are six who are running off a mark for the first time and three who are running in a Nursery for the second time; but he should be suited by the step up in trip, should run well and is overpriced at 20 to one.
Two and a half hours later Intoxication
goes up in trip to twelve furlongs under Ellie; Intoxication is a fine,
big filly who is quietly improving with maturity and she has, (perhaps,
very quietly) shown that in her last three runs and she ran to her
current mark at Nottingham five weeks ago; it is quite a competitive
handicap for the grade this evening and our filly needs to take another
step forward to be involved; but it is not out of the question that she
will as she continues to go up in trip (one of her half brother was
rated 135 over hurdles & was just touched off in a 12f Premier
Handicap at the Curragh) and she is not without interest this evening;
the ew double will pay around 36 to one to a place and there would be
worse bets this Autumn than two small ew singles and an ew double.
And tomorrow evening at Wolverhampton the
OH has given Perthshire one of those four pounds back and he goes up to
sixteen furlongs for the first time; more of him tomorrow.
It's a long way to Yarmouth but we are looking at Liberty Bay and Willingly in the six furlong Handicap on Wednesday.;
