it would be true to say that Adaayinourlife
did not run quite as well as we hoped he would, didn't seem as well
suited to the eighth furlong and coming back down in trip will probably
be the first response; he ran to 66 over seven furlongs two runs back
and has run below that level the last twice even if last night's race
was populated by some progressive handicap types.
Intoxication ran the kind of improved race we thought she would, keeping on throughout the final third of the race to be fourth (the fate of all ew chances . . . . .); she will improve again and she is a filly to keep a quiet eye on.
Perthshire goes back to Wolverhampton this evening and up in trip; the OH has given him back one of those four pounds and he has a competitive chance at the weights; the issue this evening is how he will cope with the additional four furlongs; his dam is a half sister to the fourteen furlong Goodwood Listed winner, Platitude, so clearly there is some stamina in his pedigree and he has several times ran as though a trip would suit; he has a decent ew chance if it does.
We have declared both Liberty Bay and Willingly for Yarmouth's six furlongs Fillies Handicap tomorrow.
