Three Runners at Kempton
First Verse ran well, coping with the shorter trip and not quite being able to get to the front early, and clearly enjoyed running on the tapeta Charlie skilfully negotiating the traffic
on the turn in; the filly had pretty much shown previously that she is
well capable of winning off this kind of mark and we will look to go
back to Wolverhampton with her.
Three of our two year old geldings go to
Kempton this evening; Twilight Revenge and Duly Amazed are closely
related and from the family of Gold Runner that has served us so well in
the past and both of them make their debuts in the six furlong Novice,
the third race on the card; in the manner of our two year olds both of
them will come on quite significantly for running, Duly Amazed, who has
been held up over the early Autumn, probably more so, and we will know a
good bit more about both of them after this evening; we hope both will
have a future on the track and both should be suited by the artificial
surfaces.
Heerathetrack runs in the mile Nursery half
an hour later; from the family of Jessica Ennis, who has served us
equally as well as the family of Gold Runner (and her brother the dual
Guineas winner Don't Forget Me) over the last decade, he has run with
promise on all four of his starts, just not quite being able to repel
Decas Delight, who reopposes this evening on worse terms, and a well
bred Juddmonte horse over seven furlongs in her first Nursery last
month; he ran well and with promise in all three of his Maiden starts
and is a nice handicap horse in the making who will probably have a
break after this evening; we will look to tonight's race to learn a bit
more about the right trip and how we should campaign him next year but
he goes back to Kempton to be competitive and to run well in a tightly
handicapped, good quality Nursery with the usual unexposed guys about
whom it is impossible to form a judgement; twenties are currently
available on the Exchanges and this kind of price understates his ew
chance this evening.
Bayston Hill and, as long as the ballot
drops right, Meisterzinger, both go to Chelmsford Friday evening, the
last race on their Twilight Card.
