Outturn from Bath
We have probably has better days at Bath than yesterday; Conquest of Power, who works better than he ran yesterday (witness him working with the 65 rated year older Twilight Revenge here); he will be sharper on leaving the stalls next time and hopefully he will have a draw such that he has either horses or a rail on his nearside when he bangs out to mitigate him going lefthanded as he did yesterday.
In a grade two
higher than when she won last year Willingly showed decent speed before
a lack of a run and the better class got the better of her in the last
furlong; she might need another run but keep an eye out for her in a
Class Six jobbie as we get into the Summer.
Liberty Bay
defo gave the impression that, as she has matured, five furlongs on good
ground going downhill for three furlongs is now on the sharp side for
her; she got outpaced one and a half out before keeping on on the rise
to the line, beaten just over three lengths; going back up to six would
seem to be the right approach.
Sid's Annie, ex a bit of a break, goes to Nottingham tomorrow afternoon under David; more of her tomorrow.
Two other bits
of news; the 'Horseman's Group' has undergo a rebrand (personally
think it is a shame they didn't employ Redactive to undertake it)
RE-BRANDING OF THE HORSEMEN'S GROUP
The Horsemen’s Group has unveiled its newbrand and identity. The Group representing the Racehorse OwnersAssociation, National Trainers Federation, Professional JockeysAssociation, the National Association of Racing Staff and theThoroughbred Breeders Association, will now be known as The Thoroughbred Group.
The Group’s new name and brand reflects its vision and ambition for amore inclusive industry, driven by its members’ commitment for racing to be a truly diverse and welcoming sport.
The objective of the Group remains unchanged, and it will continue towork to ensure that the commercial interests of the members of TheThoroughbred Group are protected through a single voice campaigning onmatters of mutual interest.
Secondly the Jockey Club Grassroots Series
of Races has been expanded; this provides opportunities for horses
operating below the highest level to compete for substantial
prixemoney; good news really and a bit more detail tomorrow.
