Two Runners at Lingfield
Ravi Road ran decently to be a going on third at Brighton yesterday afternoon without perhaps quite reaching the
level of his two performances at Leicester and Chepstow; and there
might be two explanations for that; that yesterday was his third run in
three weeks and inevitably the ground at Brighton could not in any
sense be described as on the easy side; he will have a bit of an easier
time over the next week and will look for something similar for him on
at least slightly easier ground.
We take Rowdown Roza and Duly Amazed to
Lingfield this evening; both making their Handicap debuts. The key to
Rowdown Roza is her progression and we hope that she will continue to
improve with racing; from being out the back at Newbury to 46 and then
53 in two runs in Maiden company over tonite's c&d; he has to
continue to improve to win what is actually a competitive and good class
race for the grade notwithstanding the small field; as always with
Nurseries it is difficult to judge how much improvement the other three
will make but we are confident that there is more to come from our filly
both over six and perhaps over seven going forward.
Duly Amazed has also shown promise on all
three of his runs, albeit that the last two have been the other side of a
setback that stopped him running in the Spring; he has always been a
quality specimem and there will not be a better moving horse in the
Parade Ring with him this evening. We are hopeful, just like with
Rowdown Roza, that he will continue to improve with racing and that he
will be better suited to the six furlongs rather than the seven of his
final Maiden run a fortnight ago (he might have been third a fortnight
ago over six); and he is decently drawn in five; he should take
another decent step forward this evening and run well; and, although
the amount of improvement he will make is hard to quantify, the
significant prices understate the ew chance he has; one market to keep
an eye on is the long fourth place on the Exchanges.
No runners tomorrow but Tin Fandango goes to Kempton on Monday afternoon.
