Outturn from Yesterday
A slightly mixed day; Monks Mead did not really run to his recent form, being caught slightly wide didn't overly help and the winner (particularly, who travelled like the best horse in the race and was green when asked to go between horses to win) and the second (who was a £170k yearling) might both be quite nice horses in the making; we will take a vu about where to go with him next.
But both Q20 Boy and AG ran really good races; the difference between Q20 Boy actually winning and
being beaten a neck probably revolved around him being short of room
and being slightly held up over four out and the slightly tricky
position he ended up in on the turn in; but it was still a really
decent performance.
AG just found the well handicapped Tony Carroll horse
(he was rated 86 in the Spring of 2022 and ran off 52 yesterday) too
strong close home; very slightly unfortunate that our guy couldn't
quite get to the rail on the turn in but for which we would likely have
held the winner off.
See The Buckthorn unfortunately bled; we will have him scoped and revise his training programme.
No runners today, tomorrow, Thursday and
Friday; Boom Boom Pow and Heerathetrack both have entries at Chelmsford
on Saturday evening.
