Liberty Bay & Arlecchino's Gift at Wolverhampton
Liberty Bay has her first start in two and a half months in the five furlong Handicap; ex a bit of an easy time and one of the aims of running her this pm is to set her up for a turf campaign; there are some nice races for her upcoming, including at Brighton, a track where she particularly acts (not every horse does). We could have been better drawn closer to the rail this afternoon and, three pounds wrong, we go back to Wolverhampton expecting her to come on for the run.
Arlecchino's Gift runs in the divided six furlong Handicap and has a much better draw in four and we are pleased to be able to put up Jason Watson, who has an excellent record for us, particularly in these colours (some of his very, very first visits to the Winner's Enclosure were on Arlecchino's Leap Wolverhampton Hattrick); since the turn of the year AG has found some real consistency and only been out of the frame the once lto when he was caught out wide on the turn in (but was still not beaten far and going on close home); the constraint is that the OH had reflected that consistency in uping him four pounds; he might have a little to find with Sisters in the Sky and Awesome Spirit this afternoon but he has a competitive chance at the weights with the rest; he should run well and has a decent ew chance just as long as he doesn't get involved in traffic.
VFTS and Garden View both go to Chelmsford
tomorrow evening; there are quite a bit to consider with both of them
and, particularly, it will be real interesting to see how VFTS gets on
over the shorter trip; the day is coming when he will bolt up.
