Searchingtheblues Powers Home & Runners at Yarmouth & Ffos Las
Searchingtheblues took another clear and significant step forward yesterday evening and the video speaks for itself; we will think about the way forward towards getting some Black Type for her and how to manage her two year old year with an eye on 2025; terrific to have her in the Yard and watching the filly work with F7 is a happy event.
Things didn't go so well for Outreach;
from the draw we probably ended up making too much use of him and he
didn't finish his race; there will be another day.
We take Tomorrow Day to Yarmouth for their
seven furlongs Classified Stake; probably even more so than his
Leicester race was this is not the best ever race run on the Norfolk
coast; and seven furlongs is likely to be the right response to the way he finished his six furlong Leicester race after
looking likely to struggle over two out; at the weights the form book
would indicate that four of the field have a chance, he being one of
them; and tens or better understate this chance; in this company, and
over what might be an effective trip (with which we have experimented
with), with the visor retained and with a ft tie expect him to run well
this afternoon.
Ocean Potion, who wears ft pieces on his
second handicap start and who is eased five pounds from his handicap
debut, is perhaps harder to weigh up; one reading of the form book
gives him a respectable chance this afternoon if he can return to the
level of his pretty promising first run at Newbury; but that was in the
Summer of 2021 and he didn't run to that level for us at Kempton at the
beginning of the month; he should improve for that run but it is hard
to predict (certainly harder than articulating the way Searchingtheblues
was going to run well yesterday evening) how he will run this evening.
Q20 Boy and Alicia go to Leicester tomorrow
evening; and we are particularly looking forward to running Monks Mead
up the Sandown hill, the last race on their evening card tomorrow.
