Tomorrow Day a NR at Newcastle
Keen enough early, which didn't overly help, Arlecchino's Rex got caught in a classic Wolverhampton pocket for about three furlongs yesterday; self evidently disappointing we will be looking to draw a line through the run; the only positive being that he will surely be eased off 61 and we can get him more easily into 0-60s; the second Wolverhampton meeting running where things could have gone a whole lot better.
Tomorrow Day is a NR at Newcastle but
Conquest of Power goes north; it is difficult to form a judgement;
ordinarily a horse who was competitive off marks in the 70s last Spring
now running off 50 in a race about four grades beneath his previous
level of effectiveness would warrant more confidence than believing that
Perceival Legallois might win the 2027 Gold Cup; but there is a
slightly regressive and inconsistent look to his form page; if he can
run to the level of the two Newcastle runs off 62 and 57 in December he
would go more than close but it is hard to be confident that he will,
earlier confidence about the falling mark not quite being justified.
Sid's Annie goes back to Kempton tomorrow.
