Four Runners at Wolverhampton
Grecian God, See The Buckthorn, Shades of May and Outreach all go to Wolverhampton this evening; in three Divisions of the seven furlong Classified Stake.
Outreach, the First Division, has, if he reproduces his performance when winning over the c&d two runs back,
has a reallty excellent ew chance on these terms and from an excellent
draw; the six last time didn't seem to suit as well as we thought it
would and his overall pattern of form has a slightly inconsistent look
but he has the best chance at the weights this evening and is at least
three pounds clear of everything else bar just Kapparis Kid; as long as
he does run his race he is overpriced at sixs or thereabouts and there
has been money for him overnight.
Grecian God in the Second Division has an
even better draw in one although his overall form, whilst giving him an
ew chance, isn't quite as clear cut as Outreach's chance and he might
have several pounds to find with the favourite and with Hawajes and Star
of Atlantis; it is possible he will strip sharper for runnning at
Southwell ex three months off and a repitition of when he won over the
c&d last August and was third at Kempton in September would see him
go close.
The Third Div sees both See The Buckthorn
and Shades of May run from two draws, 9 and 10, that could have been
better; it is difficult to make a case out for STB unless you go back
in his form a long way and he has struggled a bit for consistency, his
last run at Southwell being an example even if he didn't like the track
as much as here and Kempton; it is hard to predict how close he will
get.
But Shades of May, significantly less
exposed than the other three, has as good a form chance at the weights
as the rest in the Third Division; you can probably forigve him his
last run, over six at Chelmsford, where he got well behind early before
making a fair bit of late progress and, as long as he is sharper at the
stalls and over the first furlong, has an excellent ew form chance.
One response is to tie Outreach, GG and
SofM into a ew Lucky 15 with Hasthing in the NH Chase, the last race at
Cheltenham; you might recall the impressive performance at Windsor
where he overcome all sorts of trouble in running to power home; and
although he didn't quite make the frame in a good class race at Ascot
(when the Blog beefed him up) he was still a close up fourth; he will
be suited by both the trip and the track at Cheltenham and he is
considerably overpriced at 14s or better.
Conquest of Power and This Time Maybe both go to Wolverhampton tomorrow evening.
