Outreach at Bath, Miss Ayala a NR
Better not to dwell on Heerathetrack; a
really frustrating bit of behaviour and we will have to think carefully
how we manage him. Shades of May was also frustrating although to
nothing like the degree of Heerathetrack; as clumsy as LSG was the day
before leaving the stalls and had a mountain to climb for the first two
thirds of the race before going on to reduced the deficet at the line to
five lengths; but at least the actual performance was a stepping stone
to the gelding putting those modest last runs behind him; and he
showed that he is capable of winning in the right grade.
Outreach goes to Bath to run on turf for
the ft since he ran at Brighton 13 months ago; and he comes back down
in trip to Bath's 5f 160 yard course; difficult to predict how he might
run with the imponderable of both of these; he seems to have around
eight or nine pounds to find with several of the opposition and that is
more complex than it seems because a lot of that is based on turf form
where our guy's recent form is all on the aw (he has the same mark, 47,
on both the aw and turf). At his best he is clearly capable of making
an impact off this but it is hard to know; how he gets on this pm will
help inform us as to his surface for the Summer or whether we should
look to the early Autumn on aw.
No runners Saturday or Sunday; and more about next week over the weekend.
