Two Runners at Chelmsford
Tomorrow Day ran well, just held close home with the rest well held; those two pounds for going so close without winning at Chelmsford made the difference (and he might go up another one without winning from yesterday); but our guy did nothing wrong and is back on track; he is in at Southwell on Saturday evening and that will be an opportunity for him to run off the same mark as yesterday evening; our guy is a tough horse who has run 34 times and got in the frame in 17 of those, a 50% w&p strike which is terrific.
Lady Birgma and Grand Echo run in Chelmsford's seven furlong Handicap (6.30); both could have been better drawn; Lady Birgma runs from four pounds wrong which might indicate that she needs to improve to be involved and one measure of the amount needed is around ten pounds; so it is difficult to predict but she goes to Chelmsford to show some,at least, of that improvement.
But it is much easier to be bullish, at least ew, about Grand Echo who ran that terrific race at Kempton a fortnight ago and runs off a pound higher, off 53, this evening; on the evidence of that run he has around two pounds to find with Giles Glory this evening but as good or a better chance as any of the others; a very slight further improvement should see him go real close this evening and he is overpriced at tens or even better; especially ew down to fourth on the exchanges; he is a very quietly progressive horse who will improve with time and maturity, albeit in the grades of this evening.
No runners tomorrow.
