Arlecchino's Rex ran another consistent race at Wolverhampton yesterday evening; and might well have gone very close with a slightly clearer passage, just being slightly held up halfway through the long turn as David wanted to improve; and things could have just been slightly clearer as they levelled out; but it was still another nice performance in the grade off the two pounds higher mark.

Searchingtheblues wasn't beaten far, just over two lengths, although it would be true to say that he never really quite looked like getting there and, although running on, was one paced over that last furlong and a half; you would think on the evidence of yesterday evening that coming back to seven might be the right approach and he should remain competitive off this mark.

No runners today. We are just thinking about Ken Brulee at Salisbury on Thursday afternoon; and both Miss Chester and Vilaine Verlaine are both in at Newbury on Friday; the ground, potentially fast, will be a factor in all three.
