Arlecchino's Rex and Distillation both go to Lingfield this afternoon; and Lightenings Legacy goes to Hamilton this evening.

Arlecchino's Rex goes up to ten furlongs for the ft; he has run with credit this Spring and Summer over nine and a half furlongs at Wolverhampton and, down the hill at Lingfield, we think the extra half furlong will be fine although this afternoon is a bit of a look see; we could have been better drawn, for sure, with the bend coming up so quick; he ran a moderate race lt but he ran consistently and well in nine other starts since the turn of the year and is eased back to 49 which should make him competitive in a very tightly handicapped race; take out Warrnambool and Lady Alyana who have more to find and there is no more than two pounds between the rest; the race will turn on the way it is run and the effect within this of the draw; difficult to form a judgement but he does not seem particularly priced from a stall so wide; but if it does all drop right and Cieren can get him in on the first bend he is clearly capable of being highly competitive.

Distillation was ever so slightly disappointing over eight furlongs at Southwell last week; after making all and winning so nicely at Wolverhampton three weeks ago; back to seven furlongs this afternoon and from a reasonable draw in five we hope that he will bounce right back; he is fairly priced at around sixes and has a clear ew chance; he was keen enough over a mile at Southwell and letting him bowl along over a furlong shorter should be just the ticket; he should run well and not be far away.

Lightenings Legacy, a Land Force colt who comes from one of Juddmonte's high class familys, came to us from Grace Harris; he ran just the once for Grace, over seven furlongs at Kempton at the end of June; he goes to Hamilton to find some reasonable ground and to show some improvement over six rather than seven; how he gets on this afternoon will help inform us of where to go with him going forward.
