Runners at Newcastle & Lingfield
Firstly you can watch Shades of May's excellent performance at Southwell last Thursday by following this link; the start of a good few days for the Yard.
Both
Ken Brulee and Ten Cuidado ran well at Bath yesterday, KB leading after
the second furlong to inside the last and just being run out of the
places close home, being beaten under two lengths. Ten Cuidado showed a
fair bit of improvement for the drop back in trip, the pieces and the
ease; a combination which should enable him to back that performance up
and it will help if can avoid a stumble in the last furlong yesterday;
but a serious improvement on his last four starts.
At
Newcastle Victory Sound (4.25) runs in the seven furlong Handicap; and
Tomorrow Day in the Second Division of the divided six furlong Handicap
(5.40); both have clear competitive chances; eased another pound to
49 Victory Sound has as a good a chance on the book as any of the
opposition with the exception of Willowingburn who has perhaps one, or
possibly two, pounds in hand; our gelding has made the frame in three
of his last four starts and should run well with a favourite's chance
and not be far away.
Tomorrow
Day comes back to the track and to his favourite Newcastle for his
first run in almost six months; but, following his second wind tweak
and on his last two runs last February and March, has the best form
chance in the race although both Rain Cop and Tickets are not too far,
perhaps two pounds, behind him; a clear chance and, if he had had a
run, you would be exuding confidence; just his sharpness to make you
slightly wary.
The
same also applies, altho perhaps with not quite so much force, to the
The Bay Warrior at Lingfield (7.00), who comes back to the track after
two and a half months; and comes back down to ten furlongs for the ft
since September 2024; but a mark of 58 is one he can defo win off and
he has a clear form chance; slightly difficult to call but he should
run well this evening and is overpriced ew at 12s or bigger.
Searchingtheblues (6.00) is also not particularly easy to call with confidence; she has actually been put up two pounds for her decent run at Ffos Las a fortnight ago and this seems to give her at least four pounds to find with the favourite and two or three pounds with Daisy Roots; an equal chance or thereabouts with the rest; and consistency is one of the keys to her; on four of her last six starts she has an excellent chance but no so much on the other two.
One
way and another all four are capable of winning this afternoon provided
everything were to drop right; Victory Sound has a really serious form
chance and is the best vehicle for a dabble this afternoon; TBW
provides the ew value; an interesting day and an ew yankee is well
capable of being 100% up in the place sense.
Arlecchino's Moon will achieve a mark at Kempton tomorrow evening.
