2015 Chesnut Gelding
by Arcano (Ire) ex Sir Cecil's Girl (Ire) ( Thunder Gulch (USA) )
By the Prix Morny winner out of a Thunder Gulch Mare, this athletic colt was bought by Mark at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale; Arcano was unbeaten at two and the Dam's first foal was well sold to the United States after finishing an excellent fourth in a two year old Listed race at Deauville.
He is quite a lengthy individual who took some time to mature; he had four runs over seven furlongs and mile in the Autumn of 2017 as a two year old before being gelded; he then showed some quiet improvement and was twice just touched off in two ten furlong handicaps at Chelmsford March and April before given the Summer of 2018 off to further strengthen.
His work at home following that breal was consistently pleasing (here is working with the Two Year Old Cala Sveva on the 17th of July) and he proved to be able to translate this into a series of effective and competitive performances in twelve furlong Handicaps over the Autumn and early Winter of 2018. In seven runs at Kempton and in one at Chelmsford he was only out of the frame twice; here he is running two excellent races at Kempton in October and January
Coming back in trip to ten furlongs he ran out a decisive winner of a ten furlong Handicap at Chelmsford in the first week of March 2019 under a fine front running ride from David Probert; and the combination immediately followed up in a similar race a month later. After a Summer break he returned to the track in October 2019 and continued to run well, particularly at Chelmsford where he ran out a decisive winner just before Christmas.
On the resumption he should continue to give a good account of himself in ten furlong Handicaps, particularly at Chelmsford where has a consistent record.
